argh. selalu saja terbawa sama lirik lagu yang lagi di dengerin. siapa yang ngga' bisa meleleh denger lirik lagu ini. billy corgan sebagai vokalis boleh saja punya suara yang tidak terlalu oke. teman saya malah ada yang bilang kalo pas nyanyi, suara dia kayak orang kelaparan, tapi saya selalu tergugah denger lagu-lagunya smashing pumpkins, terutama di tiga album paling favorit saya, mellon collie and infinite sadness, adore dan machina. selalu ingin menyatakan cinta dan bilang sayang sama orang yang deket sama saya saat itu. dulu pas saya dilamar lalu menikah, saya malah sempet juga bikin undangan via blog yang semua kata-katanya diambil dari lirik smashing pumpkins.

baru dari tiga album. di wikipedia tercatat 8 album, 7 album yang sudah rilis dan ada satu album yang akan rilis tahun ini. di situs resminya smashing pumpkins mereka punya 489 lagu dan 112 rilis yang terdaftar, dari yang lagu cuma satu lagu di album entah apa sampai album lengkap, single, kompilasi, boxset, dvd, album solonya billy corgan smashing versi lengkap sampai era smashing cuma tinggal billy dan drummernya chamberlin sampai smashing pumpkins era baru sekarang yang saya belum hapal nama-namanya.

terakhir saya masih mendengarkan album mereka zeitgeist dan ep mereka american gothic meski tidak segegap gempita dulu karena ketika satu anggota band pergi, rasanya ada yang ikut pergi. masih ngefans tapi tidak bisa sebesar dulu. agak beruntung karena kunci lirik dan kekuatannya memang banyak terletak pada billy corgan, tapi rasanya memang berbeda. mau tau kenapa ? selain saya juga suka james iha dan d'arcy, saya termasuk yang tidak pernah hapal detail dari hal-hal yang saya sukai, termasuk nama-nama personil band-band yang saya suka, smashing pumpkins adalah pengecualian dan ketika satu persatu pergi, saya harus ngapalin lagi dan sedikit malas.

lho kok jadi ngomongin band-nya. balik lagi ke lirik, buat saya, smashing pumpkins selalu punya lagu yang membuat saya merasa terwakili ketika mau nulis, atau lagi sedih, marah atau lagi senang atau itu tadi, mau ngutip untuk menyatakan cinta atau ketika saya butuh satu dua kalimat untuk apapun situasi yang lagi saya hadapi.

oya, hampir lupa, selain tiga album tadi, saya juga sangat suka boxset the aeroplane flies high, disitu banyak sekali lagu yang bikin saya gereget sendiri terbawa emosi. salah satunya the last song. lagunya sedih dan lirik terakhir yang saya taruh disini. satu lagu penuh ya.
